Miami Training

Miami Training

Andy -

I’ve been working hard out in Miami since the end of November with Ivan and the team, getting myself ready for the new season.

I won’t lie, it’s been painful but it’s completely necessary so I can go into the new season as fit as I can be and ready for the Australian Open.

The training I’ve been doing over the last few weeks has included double sessions on the tennis courts, Bikram yoga, gym work and beach running. Needless to say, I’ve been going to bed pretty early each day after all that!

This week I welcomed over a few British journalists and invited them to sample a bit of the training I do – they all took part in a beach run, Bikram yoga and a gym session. I took no pleasure at all in watching them suffer but I have a sneaking suspicion they were all a little bit stiff the next day, they hopefully got a good insight into what I do while I’m out here.

It’s a shame I’m not around for Sports Personality of the Year on Sunday, it promises to be a great show with so many high points for British sport this year. I’m proud to have been a small part of that and it will be a great evening.

I’ve got a few big days of training left here, a few days back home then off to Abu Dhabi. I leave on Christmas Day as I have a tournament that starts out there a few days after that and then onwards to Australia.

I hope you all have a great Christmas and get to enjoy some time off with your family and friends.

Thank you for all the support this year, it’s been amazing. Fingers crossed for a successful 2013
