Andy and Ivan Lendl call time on coaching partnership

Andy Murray and Ivan Lendl today announced they have mutually agreed to end their coaching relationship.

During the partnership, over two separate periods, Murray won three Grand Slam titles, two Olympic Golds and obtained the world #1 ranking. The partnership paved the way for several high profile coaching relationships.

Murray will continue to build his fitness with a training block in Miami before heading to Australia in December ahead of Brisbane and the Australian Open. “I’m thankful to Ivan for all his help and guidance over the years, we’ve had great success and learned a lot as a team.  My focus now is on getting ready for Australia with the team I have in place and getting back to competing.”, said Murray.

Lendl, who will continue to work with USTA Player Development, where his group’s Patrick Kypson recently won his first pro event, added: “I wish Andy well going forward. We had a great run and a lot of fun.”
