Sat and Sun at Wimby
29 June, 2008 | 16:06
Apologies for the late blog; it's been a busy 24 hours as you can imagine.
This one picks up after the Haas match and takes you through to when he went home today...
Andy had a lot of press and media commitments to go through after the win yesterday, and that took him all over the press centre.
The papers have their own post-match press conference, then with this being Wimby, he headed off to do a stint upstairs with the TV guys.
Here he is trooping upstairs with ATP media guru and all around good guy Nicola Arzani....

First stop, the (amazing) BBC studio and a quick pre-recorded interview with Sue Barker. Can't take pics whilst their recording, but here he is bounding off to the next interview...

If that BBC studio was a residential property, it'd be priceless...
A little bit further down the 'nice studio' pecking order is the Tennis Channel. Not such a great location as the beeb...

...plus they have an interesting take on the whole Wimbledon vibe. Their set is a bit of a pub. Literally....

The media circus dealt with, he was off home again.
It was Dani's last night in the country (he has to start summer school on Monday), so Andy treated him to dinner. Gotta love Dani.
Fast forward to this morning, and Andy was hitting at midday. As usual, there was a little bit of treatment with AI first, then a wander down to the courts at Aorangi.
Good chance to catch up with people, including Ron "stringer par excellence"....

Nice easy hit for an hour or so in front of the cameras. Far fewer people in general though, this being the middle Sunday....

Quite liked this moment from earlier. Walking up from the courts, a certain Richard Gasquet was being interviewed by a mixture of French and British press....
Andy clocked him in the distance...

Then mumbled 'hope you're saying good things about me' as he wandered past...
Gasquet had a little laugh about it...

Just time to catch up with mum before heading into the village for lunch with the team. Andy and Jamie are going out for dinner with their granny and grandpa later...

And that was it really. Low key, but then tomorrow's a big one...
