Yes!

Andy is through to a Wimbledon quarter-final against Rafa Nadal after an incredible, come-from-behind win against Richard Gasquet.

Down by two sets to love against a guy who'd never squandered such a lead, he dug deep, fought hard, fought smart, and won: 5-7 3-6 7-6 (3) 6-2 6-4.

It was 3hrs and 50 or so minutes of pure drama.

The crowd might have mourned the retirement of Tim Henman of late, but way before the light began to fade on Centre Court they found a new guy to love in this one.

Speaking to the BBC's Gary Richardson immediately afterwards, Andy thanked the crowd for playing their part in giving him the best moment of his life on a tennis court.

Match Report

There are times when the phrase 'you couldn't make it up' fits, and this without doubt was one of them.

Richard Gasquet flew out of the traps out on Centre Court, raced to a two sets to love lead, before serving for the match in the third.

Playing superlative tennis, the Frenchman looked the odds on winner, and he lost.

That he did is testament not only to Andy's mental strength, but in his ability with the racquet too. Fom the third set tie-break onwards, he was more than a match for Gasquet. He was better.

In fairness, the first two sets were almost completely one sided. Gasquet served better, played better off the ground, had all the momentum.

His game is beautiful when it works, and it was beautiful indeed.

The match hinged ultimately on a third set tie-break, but not before Gasquet had a chance to give the match what appeared to be its logical conclusion.

Breaking for the 5-4 lead, and serving for the match, a sudden crack appeared in the Gasquet mindset as he found himself confronting three break points.

A double fault would restore parity, and send it to a breaker, which not only would Andy win, but would create one of those unique Wimbledon moments as Andy ran down a volley way wide of the tram lines to seal it. He was that wide in fact that he almost leapt into the crowd.

The momentum now firmly back with him, the next two sets went in a blur as Andy seized control for the first time; playing his best tennis as the light faded, he would eventually walk off court the deserved winner.
