Melzer next up at USO
29 August, 2008 | 10:08
Andy will take on Austria's Jurgen Melzer for a place in the fourth round of the US Open, Saturday at around 6pm.
Like Michael Llodra before him, Melzer is a left-hander and arrives in the third round after a tough five setter against Feliciano Lopez, and a straight sets win over Jiri Vanek.
Melzer's a tough cookie, and unpredictable; he made a great start against Andy in Indian Wells earlier this year, before losing in three sets.
That these two will likely play each other in Davis Cup soon after the Open adds an extra edge.
The Opponent

Andy's View
"He comes to the net a lot - plays aggressive. He's a tough guy to play against.
"Doesn't give you too much rhythm. But I feel like I'm playing well just now. I'm confident and I look forward to the match."
Interesting to read the post-match interview from their one and only ATP tour meeting to date: a 3-6 6-3 6-3 win in Indian Wells this year.
