In a harness...

Day two in the UK for Jez Green and the jet lag seems to be clearing; definitely a bit more with it this morning as he compared notes with Leon Smith and Matty...

It was a different story yesterday, when he fell asleep - mouth wide open - on the sofa at Andy's flat, before waking up and declaring he'd slept 'like a pudding'. Not a phrase anyone had heard before...
They were courtside to watch Andy play a couple of sets with James Ward who's in the NTC this week...

Andy and Miles often take the chance to hit with some of the British guys if they're around. Andy's last competitive match was the USO final, so opportunities to play someone other than your coach make sense...
Plenty of people stopped by to check this one out from the balcony, including SKY's very own Peter Fleming, aka 'Flembo.'

Andy and James played a couple of sets, with Andy getting a decent workout on his way to the win.
Peter Fleming wandered down to say hello before lunch.

Flembo joined the guys for a lunch break that included a lengthy discussion on some 'alternative' rehabilitation techniques. Interesting guy...
Food digested, they were back on court for some stability work. Not for the first time this year, that meant strapping on the bungee and lining up the jumps...

According to Jez, the stability work they do improves Andy's movement, more specifically (and technically) his 'cutting.'
It's a whole load of leaping over the little jumps, whilst trying to hold your balance against the pull of the bungee cord...

The variations are endless: backwards and forwards, side-to-side, three jumps as supposed to one...

With Madrid just around the corner, they're getting the higher intensity work out of the way now, which is why they went straight from that into another hour on court.
Plenty of serves and returns in the late session: as they wound things down at around 6pm, Matty Little was goaded into hitting a few first serves.

Decent stuff from him, and like everyone else he'd earned a relaxing evening at home.
More tomorrow.
