Andy will take on Juan Ignacio Chela in the second round of the French Open, with their match scheduled third after 11am on Court 1, Wednesday.
After the five set win over Gasquet on Monday, a match against Chela seems less threatening, but as a former quarter-finalist here here’s not to be taken lightly.
“He’s a very good player,” said Andy. “He’s obviously got a lot of experience.”
With a comfortable win over Chela as recently as Madrid, much could depend on how Andy has recovered from that five set win.
“I just need to make sure I recover well,” he said. “If I feel good going into the match then I’ll be confident that I can win. But he can’t be underestimated with the results he’s had, not only here, but on a lot of the clay courts surfaces during his career.”
