Andy and Roger Federer go head-to-head in the World Tour Finals once again on Tuesday, in the second of their matches in Group A.
Both players come into this one with a win under their belt, knowing that another would put them in pole position to advance.
It isn’t the first time they’ve met in this tournament; Andy eliminated Fed from the 2008 Masters Cup in what was widely regarded as one of the year’s best matches.
He brings with him a 6-3 record against the Swiss, and he wants to extend that advantage further.
“You’ve got to pretty much win two matches out of the three to give yourself a chance,” said Andy.
“I could still win two and not go through, but I’ll try to get the next one out of the way. If I can win that one I’ll put myself in a good position.”
“The night match will be a great atmosphere again,” Andy said after his opening win over del Potro.
“When I got close to winning at the end of the match the atmosphere was excellent. That’s going to make a big difference going into the next couple of matches.”
