Andy will take on Richard Gasquet in the first round of the French Open, with the match scheduled 3rd on Suzanne Lenglen, where play gets underway at 11am local time.

Gasquet will pose a stern test, having beaten Fernando Verdasco to lift the Nice title last week.

The Frenchman is down to 68 in the world rankings after a turbulent few months, but after lifting his sixth ATP title against the Spaniard, he appears to be moving back towards his career high ranking of 7.

Andy knows he faces as tough a first round as any of the seeds.

“He’s definitely one of the best players that’s not seeded,” Andy said yesterday. “He’s a very, very good player. Obviously he had some problems last year, but he’s playing very well again”

“It’s going to be a great atmosphere and it’s going to be a fun match to play in. For a long time he’s been [France’s] favourite to win a Grand Slam because he was unbelievably good when he was playing the juniors. Then he obviously had some great wins when he first came on the tour, so it’s going to be a very difficult match.”
