Jo-Wilfried Tsonga put aside any hard feelings he may have had after losing in today’s quarter-final, saying he hoped to see Andy go on and win the tournament.
The Frenchman went down 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 6-2 in his first ever Wimbledon quarter-final, but gave Andy his backing before they came off court.
“I hope is gonna be him,” said Tsonga. “I told him at the net, Make me a pleasure; go all the way.”
“I hope he will win because he’s a good player. It’s never easy to play, you know, in front of his crowd. He’s really strong, and I hope he will win.”
