Andy is through to the semi-finals of the ATP 500 event in Valencia after a 6-4, 6-2 win over Albert Montanes.
He’ll now face the winner of Fernando Verdasco and Tommy Robredo, on Saturday.
Another solid performance from Andy, with a workmanlike first set followed by a second set flourish.
After Andy broke in the opening service game of the match, Montanes mounted a strong comeback to level at three-all as a crosscourt forehand from Andy looped just out.
Not to be outdone, Andy broke for a 5-4 lead after converting a single break point with a slice-cum-dropshot that was right out of the top drawer.
The Spaniard was never really in the second set, and found himself on the wrong end of some great winners as Andy closed out the match inside an hour and a quarter.
