Andy will take on World No. 34 Albert Montanes for a place in the semi-finals of the ATP 500 event in Valencia.
The Spaniard advances thanks to a walkover against the injured David Ferrer.
This will be their third career meeting at Tour level, with Andy leading the head-to-head 2-0, thanks in part to his straight sets win in Indian Wells earlier this year.
Montanes is in his third tournament of the indoor swing, having lost in the second round of Lyon, and the first round of Stockholm. Funnily enough, that one was to Leonardo Mayer.
