Andy has been drawn in the same quarter as defending Champion Rafa Nadal for the 2010 Australian Open which gets under way next week.
Andy – the fifth seed in Melbourne – finds himself in the same half of the draw as Nadal, 2009 US Open Champion Juan Martin Del Potro, and Andy Roddick.
His first match will be against a qualifier, after which he’ll play the winner of Gicquel/Bolelli.
Looking further into the draw, Jurgen Melzer lurks as a potential third round opponent, with Gael Monfils a possible fourth clash.
But it is the quarter-finals where things get most interesting, with Andy vs. Rafa a possible match-up.
Should Juan Martin Del Potro manage to overcome his recent wrist niggles, the US Open champion potentially awaits the winner of that one in the semi-finals.
As ever, it’s hard to look past Roger Federer from the other side of the draw, although Novak Djokovic – a past winner in Melbourne – would love to upset the odds.
