Verdasco in Semi Final

Andy will take on Fernando Verdasco in the semi-finals of the ATP 500 event in Valencia, after the Spaniard downed fellow countryman Tommy Robredo in straight sets.
They’ll play this match on Saturday, and SKY will have live coverage from 5pm, where Andy vs. Verdasco will follow Youzhny vs. Davydenko.
Verdasco looked hugely impressive against Robredo; a man on a mission to book his place at the O2. The way he used his monster forehand, he looks a good bet to do just that.
The relative lack of pace in the Valencia court played into his hands, allowing him to tee-off on his forehand time after time.
But he showed some great touches too, most notably a topspin defensive lob from the baseline that had Robredo all at sea.
This was the Verdasco of Melbourne: plenty of swagger and the shots to back it up.
On that occasion at the Aussie Open, the Spaniard got the better of Andy, the only time he’s managed that in seven meetings.
As ‘comeback from injury’ tests go, Saturday’s semi-final is right up there.
