“Of all the Slams this is the most laid back, but it’s very close to the start of the year, which doesn’t give you much time to hit top form. As a city, Melbourne’s very relaxed and staying in an apartment like we did last year made it easy to switch off. The heat and humidity can be brutal, which is why it’s important to arrive here acclimatised.”
